You already had that and chose to stop it. If we want to play party then pair us with parties its obvious. I get that the pool is divided but no-one will have a problem waiting 1 minute or 2 more in Ranked if the game will be better. Something ladder-like must be implemented so we can see where we stand. I know that you should probably work in how the MM works first how you win-lose points, how many, how it measures your skill cause it's obviously flawed. Are moderators in this forum high on drugs? Wherever someone makes a thread posting his experiences regarding the MMR system for example they go and close it down and post a link to this thread here?

It's a good excuse. But I prefer to wait for 30 min or even longer over playing a highly unbalanced game. If the system returns a sad message saying "Can't find a balanced match currently", it's also acceptable. The ranked matching criteria should NOT be relaxed anyway for any reason, because the soul of the ranked matching is balance.
Playing unbalanced games and seeing my MMR can only stop me playing the ranked game. Comparing its performance with the same hero in all other matches of Dota 2 could be a good initial idea. Currently, what I saw is losing points after a failure and gaining points after a win. No matter how well I did in the game. I hope to see the situation like: I did well in a match even with a failure, and I lose few points only. I did bad in a match with a win, and I gain only few points, too. Valve please leave everything and just fix the biggest problem on Dota!

Ranked Solo Matchmaking currently gives me close games. Lately we started to play ranked party mm because we are interested in our skill progression. We played the 10 calibration games and I think we won half of them but they were tough. We were ranked at about the same level as our solo mmr. This was followed by an immense loosing streak of 9 wins to 26 defeats 3: Now, my party mmr is about points lower than my solo mmr. The games were all very tough and most times we had to deal with destructive players. I am just wondering why there is such a difference in those 2 ladders. You should treat the ratings completely separate and do not use one as a base for the other.
LIKES - I like the idea of having a rating system using numbers and percentile with no average rating because average rating doesn't make sense since we can't possibly know what kind of player is a average player. I suggest making a graph which updates regularly to show the percentile a rating is in. DISLIKES - I dislike myself having at least rating 99 percentile in unranked, so at least 90 percentile in ranked but playing with people with poor decision making. During my first 5 calibration solo ranked matchmaking, I lost but it's fine, what's not fine is that I'm playing with people with poor decision making.
For my 11th game, Match , my team were doing well in terms of kills during the early game, then, Bloodseeker and Alchemist decided to buy Shadowblade against such opposing heroes: Since we already had early game advantage, why not continue snowballing with better items instead of Shadowblade so that Alchemist can farm. Let's face some of the biggest issues i dislike in dota 2 ranked matchmaking. I think the pick time in AP should be decreased because nobody picks, everybody just waiting for the others due to counterpick - Too many pauses, in every game, there is a pause because somebody freeze out, or crash, or just something got wrong with their computer. This should be punished because it's a big time waste, usually to play i have to wait 10 minutes.
I want to play with people who haven't got internet problems etc. A checkbox would be nice for example to filter those players out who drop out frequently. Or just decrease the pause time. We need a report policy for playing solo and ignoring the whole team for example. A simple "other" reason button would be perfect.
If the enemy wins, gets in to the base and not pushing it in and finish, just standing in front of the well and kill, kill, kill. We just die, die, die and they are doing it for 15 minutes. The fountain can't protect against an overfed enemy. Make the fountain stronger, or give us a safe place somewhere behind it or something. I can imagine it like if lanes got destroyed you have the oppurtinity to make yourself invulnerable under the fountain and ofc you can't move, can't spell, can't attack etc. It's unacceptable to stand and wait 10 minutes while the enemy just chops everybody beyond reason.
I can't communicate because half of my team can't speak english. If somebody choose english, then make them compulsorily use it. It's not english when somebody just keeps writing in phonetic but latin letters. Send them to lowprio. This is unacceptable too, if you choose english, speak english. Half of this section should be on the LIKES because it was a very nice idea to put a minimap and be able to show the others where do you want to go. What i dislike is that nobody uses this feature.
Good solution is to don't let the players pick, before they not picking a location on the minimap. I hope some of my points will have some kind of impact. Difference between best and worst player should be minimized. Implement option to optimize game balance by waiting for a longer queue. Players who are muted must not be able to play Ranked. Implement Ranked matchmaking cool-down for muted duration. Implement ladder; if you play Ranked your rating is visible to all and on ladder. If you don't want it to be visible don't play Ranked. Whats the reasoning behind me loosing points when my Teammate abandones? Matched with solo players when I play solo. Most of the times Dislikes: If i win a game I have to loose next game. Ranked Matchmaking is beyond broken.
I started off 4. I have lost 16 of my last 21 games, of which I was only responsible for one. My teammates every game either abandon, intentionally feed, afk grief, destroy items, or stop playing because they say they don't care. I always have at least two people with 10 deaths on my team.
All of my friends have told me that they have never seen anybody with as bad of luck as I have. I've no idea why I gain 23 and 28 points in these two games. We were even close to lose sometime. The kill ratio is I am the slardar. For such a tough and balanced game, I gain only 23 points. The final kill ratio is It's very weird that I gain 28 points in this game.
Please fix this asap. I don't want to see that I gain more points in a unbalanced game. When I spend significant effort in a well balanced game, I gain fewer points. Matched with people out of my region and language settings. This is the biggest problem with Dota2 overall, but I refuse to even finish my placement matches due to the number of players I am forced to deal with on a regular basis who do not speak English, and are not from the US.
I dislike that literally people are muted per game and that the games become literal shitfests due to that. My last 3 games we had a lastpick pudge on either my or the opponents team, even though the pudge pick makes no sense in that composition and leads to a default lose. How can valve think that this forced mute system has any place in ranked matchmaking? Forget about yourself being muted. If you get matched with muted players its also a default stomploss. Lets be honest here, the mute system is a big failure.
It does not prevent people from flaming. As soon as they are unmuted they flame again. Dota is a very competitive game and people get hotblooded pretty fast. This is also true in regular sports.

Now what does the mute system actually achieve? It achieves that games with muted players are unpredictable for the MMR system. Sure that player might have a rating, but as soon as he is muted, this does not hold true anymore due to the communication barrier. He will inevitably lose a lot of games if he keeps playing while his mute his active, which punishes the other 4 players in his team and also the opposing 5 players, because they get a stomp instead of a decent game.
Those people then come to the forums and complain about bad matchmaking, when in reality, the root of the problem lies within the mute system. I do not belief for a second that the mute system has a large enough effect on people to restrain them from flaming. I see flamers every single game. I see muted players every single game. Isnt that a sign that the mute system doesnt accomplish what it is intended for, but instead only destroys games on a regular basis?
The mmr rating drops for every game you loose, and increase for evry win. That dont impress me at all! Because I want to play with players at my skill level and when it comes to games u are playing solo, you cant look at win or loose!!!!! I really had a good impression about Valve but really all I see from them is just greed. Go more for hats please, and wait years to make a ranking system that does nothing. Today I had rating in solo. I ended up playing a game with Lich support in CM, where we had a captain nearly retarded and our midder was just throwing the game by diving towers left and right. We struggled and lost eventually. I ended up with as freaking Lich, had Meka and Scepter farmed in 30 mins as a goddamn support.

If there is a difference, it is not clear. It seems a waste to have such a complex system as I understood from the matchmaking blog post , to in the end have such simple outcomes. I have no way to explain this. But I have talked to some people, and several of them have dropped ranked altogether for similar reasons. It's not about winning or losing, I just want to play with people who are minimally polite.
I'm from Brazil, which is known to be one of the worst gaming communities. Sometimes I'm matched with Argentinians or people from other Spanish speaking countries, and they are polite enough, but hard to communicate with since I don't share a language with them at all. They also seem to play in a very different style from us, so it's hard to match expectations.
Low level Dota usually has a random outcome. It's one of the main reasons I think the community dislikes the relationship between win rate and ranking. Since I'm usually not in control of the match outcome, there is nothing I can do when playing solo but try hard to make a difference. One person alone can hardly achieve anything consistent in these conditions. I feel like I'm playing way below my level, but can't change this situation. Overall I win more than lose now If I pick omniknight, so I can give health and mana to other players and try to prevent them from feeding in senseless fights.
On that same reasoning, the bigger your party is, the less individual performance should count. A one person team would in the current situation more frequently win or lose MMR independent of the match result. Eventually you would feel like you're playing with people your level, and having fair matches. Currently, I would expect to win MMR in my games even though we lost.
I watch the replays over and over, ask for feedback from other people, and I'm convinced my skill level is not properly reflected on my MMR. Several times I cause first blood. That rarely happens now. Trying to convince them the game is not lost and stop cursing each other. None of these things seem to matter to my rating. I have a question, from what i've seen thus far with the ranked MMR system it really is just determined on your percentage of wins over losses, as even if i play at a high level with a solid gpm, xpm, KDA all the things i think mmr should take into account i will still lose around the same amount as i would if i had a terrible game varying by perhaps points at most. So is ranked MMR really only related to win percentage, because if so it's not very effective at telling your personal mmr when a lot really relies on your teammates as you are only 1 out of the 5.

All experienced and good player will always have a bad play, a bad team, a bad connection or what not and if you loose a game, your rating will drop closer and closer to the noob player rating making your game from bad to worst and making your game much harder to win. You can be a high level player that just plays a lot of games but it doesn't make you a pro and same can be said with a level one account because i saying this out of personal experience, because me and my team usually create level 1 accounts and pretend to be noob just to troll and join high level matches to let them know that level don't win games but experience does.
We are old players playing with at least 8yrs experience and seen everything there is to it just to be match to tryhards that just recently started playing and gained experience from guides. I have many friends just started out and they are low levels and has low rmm rating but they are not new to the game, almost all of them are even a better player that me but because of low rmm rating, they are always matched with noob players and always having a hard time winning the game and getting out of this rmm hell.
I have played over normal matchmaking games of dota 2. I was ranked player. One game I abandoned because it was just absolutely ridiculous. Two players on my team are like , in the first few minutes of the game. Why must I waste my time and play out every one of these one-sided joke games? Why are solo ranked players matched with teams?

Implement a concede if you want to keep your crappy matchmaking system. You should also start thinking about the possibility that you are one of the causes leading your team to lose. The only mode allowed should be CM. My experience on playing AP is that you get pretty much try hard pubs where people will just wait for you to pick something so they can counter it. Either that or over-powered heroes get picked instantly BB, Earth Spirit, you get the point so they can have some kind of advantage. The CMs I have played on RMM have been fun, entertaining and looked serious while the AP ones are pretty much the same thing I have always played with just one difference, which is that people try hard on picks and also end up using unbalanced heroes which are not supposed to be used in competitive games.

I seriously suggest only to allow competitive modes, aka CM, on ranked match making. I think changing that will be a big improvement to the system, RMM is supposed to provide players a somewhat competitive environment to play, and even when just allowing CM can generate situations where some troll gets the captain and ends up banning random heroes and picking trash ones, well, those trolls should eventually get a lower rating while serious players will eventually get higher.
Furthermore, it should be allowed for the captain to grant his position to another player in case he does not want to draft. I can't see how some get get from 3. Question for someone who found a way to climb the ladder and get away from a solo queue cesspool of games. You can actually raise your rating, you will win more than half your games if you are good, and start losing when you reach a rating high enough so that it will cause you to get matched with players who will actually beat you.
I can't win 2 games in a roll but i can lose 2 games in a roll Whoever has the least noob wins. In my last match we owned the other team and one of them ragequit and abandoned at 18 minutes. I only got 17 points for that match. I understand that the idea is if the game ends early there was a big skill difference, but that's not true at all. This encourages leaves like this one, also when people own hard they don't push to finish but fountain camp until 25 minutes are reached. A good, fast execution should be encouraged, not penalized. A player will do better if their is cooperation, teamwork, and better players to push them will help them improve. Just playing with people with the same MMR is not going to help the player improve. On the other side the other players may not want a player with lower MMR because they will end up bringing them down. This then creates a barrier in MMR. The player will be stuck at around the same MMR. The only way to significantly improve your MMR is to demolish the other team with a rediculus score many times to improve it.
Most of the time your MMR isn't in your hands to improve it. Its in other peoples hand and the matchmakers hand to be able to improve. I keep getting games where i get teammates on Carries with absolute free farm going 0 15 5 ida. I have no idea how. I am the support which goes 3 0 5 and we still lose because they suck. A support can't change the tide of the game just based on the hero. Sometimes its natural to get a lot of deaths on Wisp and that shouldn't bring you down when you play. There should be some sort of way to assess a players score based on how they play.
The MMR should be in your hands not somebody else's who does horrible. You should also get paired up with people much better than you so you could play better and improve. Most of dots is about improving your skill. To wrap up I think there should be a way to rank people based on skill Positioning, Supporting, Farming, Jungling, ect….
I have mmr. My last game VS ruined whole game by not supporting, stealing farm, intentional swap abuze etc. I checked his dotabuff.. Mine is almost Its unskill, with such wr he should have k rank max and be in lower bracket. Your system is shit, i'm saying it again and again. LIKES - I like that we have a specific queue to indicate we want to play the game with the intention of winning and not horsing around or just having fun with weird comps. While I feel that my teams have improved in the sense that people are trying to win more often, I feel that the RMM queue opens players up to people trolling by specifically trying to lose the game.
If the other teams silencer had reconnected we would have been at a serious disadvantage. I think we need a more robust report system specifically for ranked matchmaking. While I know lots of people on these forums hate the report system as it is, I don't think it's fair for people to have their matchmaking rating dragged down by people purposely losing.
